Warehousing & Time-Definite Export Logistics for Automotive
Aeronet Worldwide provided a multitude of services to keep their client’s production line operational.
Aeronet Worldwide’s client (unnamed in this case study) produces high-performance electric motorcycles at their facility in Northern California. Their previous logistics service provider did not have the capability to support real-time inventory access, which is critical to ensure accurate replenishment for their production line.
When they first approached Aeronet in January 2023, they had only a two-week timeline to transfer all of their inventory before a February 1 deadline. Despite the short timeline, the Aeronet San Francisco team jumped into action. They received over 60 truckloads of inventory within ten business days. The team physically counted over 1,300 pallets; identified each SKU, piece count, and lot number for each pallet; and entered all the details into our warehouse management system. In addition to receiving all of this material, Aeronet had to manage transfers to ensure that the production line kept running. After some long days, and a lot of work, Aeronet completed the inventory transfer with one day to spare.

As a result of this successful project, Aeronet also gained the client’s export shipments into the Philippines. They had opened a production facility in Manila to serve Asia and Europe. Under stringent timelines, Aeronet shipped product from the U.S. to Manila, via air and ocean, to get the production line operational. Aeronet also took over point-to-point shipments from China and Taiwan, directly into Manila, to replenish the production line. The client’s Manila’s production facility is now fully operational and supporting over 50% of worldwide motorcycle production for the company.
However, with success has also come challenges. The client can receive very large ocean orders that need to turn quickly. Their previous service provider would continuously roll bookings, but Aeronet was able to secure bookings for ocean freight moving to Manila, while also matching the price. This was critical to keep their production line up and running. It also saved money, as shipping large, 60-plus pallet orders by air is very costly. Aeronet was also able staff our warehouse on short notice, get additional equipment, and work under tight timelines to meet the client’s demands. We also consolidated product arriving from Northern California and audited it – catching any incorrect quantities or pallet weights – which prevented additional fees with Manila Customs.
