Aeronet Worldwide’s client (unnamed in this case study) is a leading medical supplier of critical-care biopharmaceuticals, plasma products, and vaccines. In 2023, they started distributing COVID-19 vaccines, delivering to clinics, hospitals, and doctor’s offices in gel packs that must be pre-conditioned at -30° Celsius.
Aeronet’s Los Angeles station started off transporting these gel packs, using refrigerated trailers set at -30°, from the manufacturer to the client’s pre-condition facility, then to their distribution centers in Tennessee and California.

The shipment volume has turned out to be much larger than the client originally anticipated, and they have relied heavily on Aeronet. In 2023, we handled over 100 temperature-controlled and time-sensitive shipments. Additionally, we have been able to provide them with over-the-top customer service, and have become an extension of the client. With very short notice, and remaining flexible with constantly changing, critical transactional information from the client, the Aeronet Los Angeles dedicated account team has displayed near flawless execution. This, combined with our ability to handle highly sensitive, high-value freight, has drawn recognition from the client. As a result, we have been recognized with “approved partner/vendor” status.
The “flu season” is normally the busiest time of year for the client. However, with the additional COVID-19 supply chain business, it was like two peak seasons lumped into one for them. This is where Aeronet was able to show even more value, taking ownership in handling demand, communicating, and exceeding expectations. We even rescued distressed shipments, delivered directly to hospitals, and provided warehousing and storage services when needed.
The logistics solutions Aeronet has provided will lead to larger volumes being handled, with an additional large chain pharmacy being added as one of their customers, as well as more nationwide distribution.
