Aeronet Worldwide devised a plan for the client’s product that contains a lithium battery.
Picogrid is a defense technology company that builds a common command and control platform for fragmented defense systems, backed by a suite of natively integrated hardware. These platforms allow standalone communication systems across multiple sectors to connect remotely and communicate with each other. These units are sent all over the world, mainly to areas of deployment. They’re also sent into battle-ready situations where there are multiple partners coming together from different regions, which require the ability to communicate with each other once they hit the ground.

Picogrid presented its logistics challenge to Aeronet: the main piece of equipment contains lithium batteries, and needs to ship by air, which meant they were unable send a fully assembled unit internationally because of restrictions on transporting lithium batteries. What they had been doing was disassembling the batteries from the main unit, taking them to a crating company, bringing them back to their facility, then having another company ship them to final destination. Once there, Picogrid would have a technician fly to Kuwait (or any other area of deployment) to assemble them.
The team at Aeronet Los Angeles researched a better way to manage the logistics of this project, and provided a solution for Picogrid. Aeronet was able to assist with crating the fully assembled unit, and also secure proper international air transportation for that unit. This eliminated the step of having to remove the lithium batteries, incurring the cost of separate crating and shipping. But most of all, this solution was able to save Picogrid the cost and peril of sending the technician to the remote deployment location.
Essentially, Aeronet provided a comprehensive logistics solution that immediately impacted our client’s bottom line!
