Secure, Large-Scale Distribution for High-Value Collectibles
How Aeronet solved a tight deadline and high security demands for a consumer products company.
A consumer products company came to Aeronet on a referral from a long-standing Aeronet client. They were preparing to ship 5,500 pallets of high-value collectibles, including many new and rare releases, to a national retailer’s distribution centers across the country for a major product launch. Shipping needed to start in less than a month.
The requirements were demanding. The client needed a partner with experience handling high-value product, a proven track record of delivering to the retailer’s distribution centers within time-definite windows, and the ability to manage the project from start to finish. Every pallet would carry a GPS tracker and every load a GPS seal, so the client also needed a contact available after hours and on weekends if a truck detoured off route or a tracker or seal raised a security issue.
After a few calls and a site visit to the shipping facility to pre-plan, the project kicked off with an Aeronet team working on-site in a shipping office alongside the client. The team handled nearly everything: securing carriers, scheduling all delivery appointments, managing driver check-in, verifying every carrier, piece of equipment, and driver, helping label pallets, attaching GPS trackers, and sealing loads with GPS seals. Status reports went to the client multiple times a day, tracking progress through proof of delivery.

The project wrapped a month later after handling three waves of more than 70 truckloads each, with a few days between waves. Only two issues came up en route, both driver incidents that Aeronet resolved quickly, and there was no loss or damage. Sometimes the true value of a logistics partner shows most clearly when something goes wrong.
The client’s point of contact, just six months into a new role, came away with a high-profile success to share with his executive team and peers.
